Sharepod may ask to install QuickTime for you; if so, accept the installation. Mac — Double-click the Sharepod DMG file, click and drag the Sharepod logo onto the 'Applications' folder icon, and follow any on-screen installation prompts. You may need to make an exception for Sharepod in your Mac's security settings. SharePod wasn't updated for almost a year and at it's current state only supports iTunes 10.2 or earlier. Later versions of iTunes come with an updated device driver which prevents tools not designed for that version to access the iOS device. IDevice users are on the lookout for a better Sharepod alternative to transfer music files from their iPod to computer (both Windows and Mac systems).While Sharepod is a direct method of transferring playlists and music to iTunes or computer from devices including iPad, iPhone or iPod, the buffering leaves many users dissatisfied.

Besides the typical iPods and Nanos, SharePod also supports iPhone and iTouch. No installation required, SharePod is portable. SharePod 3.xx is no longer supported or developed but is still available for download. Use it with caution, as some features of the app may affect your device's files.
